We're still cooking!

The Chesil Rectory Scroll
The Chesil Rectory has been providing guests with delicious menus and warm hospitality for over a decade. We’re really missing all our lovely staff, guests, friends & neighbours & can’t wait to see you all again soon. Thank you all so much for your supportive messages in these challenging times but we’ve taken the difficult decision to ‘press pause’ due to the constraints of our historic medieval building and the challenges this poses for the safety of our guests and staff. So for now, we’re staying temporarily closed .  However we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to try & stay afloat and this is how you can help. Please order our new CHESIL AT HOME  3 course menu. We can’t wait to bring the Chesil to your door!

Please use the links below to order our  CHESIL AT HOME menu, and our hand-selected cases of wine.

The Chesil Rectory

The Chesil Rectory is a unique and historic restaurant located in Winchester which occupies a 600 year old grade II listed Medieval house of exceptional character and charm. Independently owned since 2008 by a small group of friends who share a passion for food and wine, the Chesil Rectory offers a modern British menu featuring simple, classic, seasonal dishes and an abundance of fresh local produce.

The Chesil Rectory. Re- opening, but not quite yet …

To all our valued guests, friends, family, neighbours, regulars,

It’s been a strange old time for all of us during lockdown. We’ve missed you all so much & we’re starting to get excited about the future!

Now that we’ve had some form of clarity from the Government on the new rules for our hospitality sector, we’ve realised we have to take very tentative steps towards re- opening & unfortunately it can’t be straight away.

We are a beautiful ancient listed building & as we endeavour to put all the right measures in place, we also have to acknowledge we’re working in this incredible Medieval restaurant with all its charm & all its challenges!

We are using our time while closed to complete some planned refurbishment work to the exterior & garden & we won’t be open for a few more weeks.

We’ll keep you posted through our website & social channels with the opening date & all the new developments.

We can’t wait re-open so we can all once again enjoy the hospitality, the good food, great wine & wonderful times at The Chesil Rectory!
