A massive thank you to all our customers who dined with us during December & donated to the fantastic charity StreetSmart. Together we’ve raised £1584 -the funds will help Hampshire’s Step by Step Charity to continue to empower young people facing homelessness – such a great charity!
5 Gold Rings – Woolly Hat Fair @ The Chesil Rectory
The Chesil Rectory is proudly hosting Hat Fair’s #WoollyHatFair! Prepare to be taken by the hand and inducted into an oh-so-secretive society: The Mysterious Society of The Five Gold Rings!
A short immersive theatre event for just 12 people at a time, during which you will be (spoiler alert…) briefly blindfolded.

Free tickets can be booked via Theatre Royal Winchester Box Office on 01962 840 440 for ritual inductions at 5pm, 5.15pm or 5.30pm.
Walk-up slots will only be available on the day if spaces are available and all tickets have not been booked in advance. We recommend you pre-book to avoid disappointment.

From water to waiter in 48 hours – 25 Plates of Hampshire Food Festival
Twenty-five chefs have created dishes from some of the very best local produce to celebrate Hampshire Fare’s 25th anniversary.
Throughout July our very own Chef Brown will be showcasing an incredible Chalk Stream Trout Salad, starter dish, that is brimming with seasonal, fresh flavours.
Did you know?
Chalk Farm is located near Romsey next to the River Test. The trout is some of the tastiest, richest and leanest in the UK as a result of their unique natural habitat. Drawn from sustainable farms on the Rivers Itchen and Test, these spring-fed chalk streams with crystal clear water, constant water flows and excellent light and vegetation create havens for the fish. These beautiful chalk streams give the fish a distinct, sensational taste whether smoked or fresh.
The Hampshire Food Festival has grown from a weekend event to a month-long line up of over 75 events.

Celebrating 25 Years with Hampshire Fare
The Chesil team had a fabulous evening at Lainston House, celebrating 25 years of Hampshire Fare. The food group was set up in 1991 by a handful of local farmers keen to work together to spread the message about the high quality local food available across the county.
Easter Weekend

This is what happened when the Woolly Hat Fair & Spinney Hollow visited the Chesil Rectory for day two of Winchester Hat Fair’s first ever Live Advent Calendar.

Autumn News from The Chesil Rectory
Our delicious new Autumn menu is brimming with local seasonal faves: wild rabbit & wood pigeon from the good folks at Alresford’s Blackmoor Farm; rich, savoury chestnuts, tasty Stockbridge wild mushroom; juicy blackberries & velvety squash. No wonder it’s Chef’s favourite season.
Hurray ! We’ve been nominated for ‘Hampshire Life’ restaurant of the year! Thank you to everyone who nominated us. The winners will be announced next month so we’ll keep you posted.
